The Role:
As our Legal Counsel you provide legal support across the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role oversees legal operations, drives process efficiency, and provides guidance on commercial, corporate, and compliance matters. You engage with internal teams, external counsel, regulators, and commercial partners to ensure the business operates within a structured legal framework.
We are looking for a hands-on Legal Counsel with 5+ years’ in-house commercial experience to join our small, dynamic Legal & Compliance Team. In this role, you provide legal support across the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while taking ownership of commercial agreements and legal operations. You will work closely with internal teams, external counsel, regulators, and commercial partners, helping the business navigate legal and regulatory frameworks efficiently.
This role is particularly suited to someone with iGaming experience and native-level English proficiency, both written and verbal. Key Responsibilities
Contracts and Policies
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including those with gaming providers, operators, and other third parties on matters including:
- Advise on and prepare intercompany agreements and Data Processing Agreements.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure contracts align with business strategies and objectives.
- Draft and maintain Website Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Policy.
- Manage legal documentation and maintain accurate records.
Legal Advice and Guidance
- Provide practical legal advice on commercial, corporate, and compliance matters.
- Support the CLCO in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure company-wide compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Monitor legal developments and advise on their implications for the business and the online gaming sector.
Legal Operations and Risk Management
- Streamline and optimize existing legal processes for efficiency and consistency.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct legal research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Identify and mitigate potential legal risks across the organization.
- Manage corporate law matters and support funding rounds.
- Assist in compliance projects, including data privacy initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE
- Experience in commercial law, corporate matters, and compliance ideally from an in-house perspective
- Native level English language fluency both written and verbal
- Experience within the online gaming industry is advantageous
- Confident, clear, and concise communicator, both verbally and in writing, with an ability to gain buy-in
- High attention to detail, proactive, adaptable, and innovative.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
